"When you meet someone who's out there changing people's lives - you just have to share. John Gonzales and his Ballet Folklórico Oro de Mexico from Porterville, CA, truly inspire me! Here's a little piece that Jordan Brady and I put together about him and his program."

2023 was the year that truly made me feel as though a crossover from our beloved channel 21 bridged over to channel 26. This is an amazing opportunity for the American public to understand our Culture, Traditions and Heritage here in the Central Valley.

"Nick and I both volunteered for this performance, not just for James, but we helped look after groups and groups of children ages 3-17, and I will say, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! This academy is such a beautiful blessing to our family, and the way James is now dreaming of becoming a professional Folklorico dancer is astonishing! The Gonzales Dance Academy is so patient with kids like James, and they handle autism in such an amazing way! They are strict with James, but they show him so much patience and compassion like no other program ever has. I will always recommend this dance program to anyone who is struggling to find inclusiveness for their autistic children."

"Baby girl’s Winter Ballet Folklorico Performance! She did amazing! Being a dance mom who was backstage helping reminded me of when my mom used to help when I did Ballet Folklorico when I was younger! Anahi, baby girl you did amazing! Momma and Daddy are so proud of you! Thank you to all the teachers at Gonzales Dance Academy for teaching my baby girl and of course John Gonzales for believing in my daughter! Can’t wait for next semester! #BalletFolkorico #GonzalezDanceAcademy"

"2011 Dance Practice: Ballet Folklorico (I am on the far right)
One after the other, moments like these are remembered. The practices and instructions that my dance instructor gave to me are echoed again now in Kendo, but different.
- Posture: relax the shoulders. chin up. Poised
- Third position: Stand tall
- Follow the leader. 1...2...turn. turn
Such fond memories with the O.G team during dance since the age of 5. How I look back on it nowadays. The stage and practice of performing gave me the upmost rewarding feeling of a dancer/performer. Like expressing yourself by showing this cultural side within the Hispanic heritage I grew to learn and love."
